Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
अग्निरुवाच मदड्गलेभ्य: प्रसूतानि मदाश्रयकृतानि च । ममैव तान्यपत्यानि वरुणो हवशात्मक:
agnir uvāca mad-aṅgebhyaḥ prasūtāni mad-āśraya-kṛtāni ca | mamaiva tāny apatyāni varuṇo havśātmakaḥ ||
Agni nói: “Ba người con ấy sinh ra từ chính các chi thể của ta, và Đấng Tạo Hóa đã khiến họ xuất hiện khi họ nương tựa trên sự nâng đỡ của ta. Vì thế, họ thật sự là con của ta. Varuṇa—dẫu mang hình thức của lễ vật hiến tế—cũng không có quyền đòi hỏi họ.”
