Suvarṇa-dāna: Kārttikeya’s Origin and the Defeat of Tāraka (सुवर्णदान-प्रसङ्गे कार्त्तिकेय-उत्पत्ति तथा तारकवधः)
ब्रह्म॒चर्येण तपसा यत्नेन च दमेन च
brahmacaryeṇa tapasā yatnena ca damena ca, śakyaḥ samāsādayituṃ golokaḥ puṣkarekṣaṇa.
Bhīṣma nói: “Hỡi đấng mắt như hoa sen, Goloka chỉ có thể đạt được nhờ brahmacarya (phạm hạnh), khổ hạnh, nỗ lực bền bỉ và tự chế. Cảnh giới tối thượng ấy không đến từ ham muốn suông, mà từ việc thực hành kiên định các hạnh lành—điều phục các căn, bố thí tạo phúc, hành hương đến các thánh địa, đại khổ hạnh (tapas), và những thiện nghiệp cát tường khác.”
