Brahmā–Indra–Surabhi Itihāsa

लोकेडस्मिन्‌ दक्षिणानां च सर्वासां वयमुत्तमा: । भवेम न च लिप्येम दोषेणेति परंतप

loke 'smin dakṣiṇānāṃ ca sarvāsāṃ vayam uttamāḥ | bhavema na ca lipyema doṣeṇeti paraṃtapa ||

Vasiṣṭha nói: “Trong cõi đời này, giữa mọi hình thức dakṣiṇā (lễ vật tôn kính), chúng ta sẽ là bậc tối thượng—nhưng chớ để bất kỳ lỗi lầm nào làm hoen ố. Đó là điều ta nói, hỡi kẻ thiêu đốt quân thù.”
