सत्यवन्तः स्वर्गलोके मोदन्ते भरतर्षभ । दम: सत्यफलावाप्तिरुक्ता सर्वात्मना मया

Transliteration

satyavantaḥ svargaloke modante bharatarṣabha | damaḥ satyaphalāvāptir uktā sarvātmanā mayā ||

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: “Hỡi bậc tráng kiệt của dòng Bharata, người chân thật hoan hỷ nơi cõi trời. Nhưng chính sự tự chế—dama, tức điều phục các căn—mới được tuyên dạy là phương tiện để thật sự đạt quả của chân thật. Điều ấy ta nói bằng trọn tấm lòng.”
