रोग्णि रोग्णि महाभाग लोकाश्षास्या5क्षया:स्मृता: । संग्रामेष्वर्जयित्वा तु यो वै गा: सम्प्रयच्छति । आत्मविक्रयतुल्यास्ता: शाश्वता विद्धि कौशिक
Pitāmaha uvāca: rogṇi rogṇi mahābhāga lokāḥ śāśvatā akṣayāḥ smṛtāḥ | saṅgrāmeṣv arjayitvā tu yo vai gāḥ samprayacchati | ātmavikrayatulyās tāḥ śāśvatā viddhi Kauśika ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Hỡi bậc hữu phúc, người ta ghi nhớ rằng trong mỗi sợi lông của một con bò đều có những cõi đời vĩnh cửu, không hư hoại, ngự trị. Vì thế, ai giành được bò trong chiến trận rồi đem bố thí—thì những con bò ấy đối với người đó sẽ như những con bò có được do bán chính thân mình mà dâng tặng, và chúng ban công đức trường tồn, không suy giảm. Hãy biết điều này, hỡi Kauśika.”
