Cyavana’s Yogic Display and Kuśika’s Recognition of Tapas (च्यवन-योगप्रभावः कुशिकस्य तपःप्रशंसा च)
समाप्तदीक्षश्ष्यवनस्ततोडगच्छत् स्वमाश्रमम् | गविजश्न महातेजा: स्वमाश्रमपर्द ययौ
samāptadīkṣaś cyavanas tato ’gacchat svam āśramam | gaviṣṭho mahātejāḥ svam āśramapadaṁ yayau ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Khi nghi lễ thọ giới (dīkṣā) của hiền triết Cyavana đã viên mãn, ngài trở về đạo viện của mình. Sau đó, vị hiền triết rực rỡ Gaviṣṭha (Gojāta) cũng quay lại đạo viện riêng.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores the dharmic ideal of disciplined observance: once a vowed rite (dīkṣā) is properly completed, the ascetic returns to his rightful station (āśrama), emphasizing order, restraint, and fidelity to prescribed duties.
Bhīṣma narrates a transition: Cyavana finishes his consecrated observance and goes back to his hermitage; afterward another illustrious sage, Gaviṣṭha (also referred to as Gojāta), likewise departs for his own hermitage.
