Vipula’s Guru-Obedience, Divine Flowers, and the Peril of Others’ Oaths (विपुलोपाख्यानम्—पुष्पप्राप्तिः शपथ-प्रसङ्गश्च)

तथा ब्रूहि महाभाग कुरूणां वंशवर्धन । यदि शक्या कुरुश्रेष्ठ रक्षा तासां कदाचन ।।

Transliteration

tathā brūhi mahābhāga kurūṇāṁ vaṁśavardhana | yadi śakyā kuruśreṣṭha rakṣā tāsāṁ kadācana || kartuṁ vā kṛtapūrvā vā tan me vyākhyātum arhasi ||

Translation

Vì vậy, hỡi bậc hiển quý—người làm rạng rỡ và tăng trưởng dòng Kuru—xin hãy nói cho ta biết: nếu vào bất cứ lúc nào việc bảo hộ những người nữ ấy là có thể, hỡi bậc tối thượng trong các Kuru, hãy giảng rõ phương cách. Và nếu sự bảo hộ như thế đã từng được thực hiện trong quá khứ, thì cũng xin kể lại tiền lệ ấy cho ta một cách tường tận.
