Brahmagītā: Praise of Brāhmaṇas and norms of honor
शरणागतेषु चैवं त्वं कुरु सर्व युधिष्ठिर
śyena uvāca | śaraṇāgateṣu caivaṁ tvaṁ kuru sarvaṁ yudhiṣṭhira | yudhiṣṭhira! tvam api śaraṇāgatānāṁ kṛte evam eva svam sarvasvaṁ nicchāvaraṁ kuru | yo manuṣyaḥ svabhakta-premi-śaraṇāgata-puruṣāṇāṁ rakṣāṁ karoti tathā sarva-prāṇiṣu dayāṁ dhatte sa paraloke sukhaṁ prāpnoti |
Chim Ưng nói: “Cũng vậy, hỡi Yudhiṣṭhira, hãy hành xử như thế đối với những kẻ đến cầu nương tựa. Hỡi Yudhiṣṭhira, vì người đã quy phục tìm chỗ che chở, ngươi cũng nên hiến dâng cả toàn bộ của mình, không giữ lại điều gì. Người nào bảo hộ những kẻ sùng kính, những người yêu mến mình và những ai đến xin trú ẩn, lại nuôi lòng từ mẫn đối với mọi loài hữu tình, người ấy sẽ đạt an lạc ở cõi đời sau.”
