उसे गिरते देख सम्पूर्ण भूतोंके हितमें तत्पर रहनेवाले वर देनेमें समर्थ इन्द्रने दौड़कर पकड़ लिया ।।

Transliteration

śakra uvāca | mataṅga brāhmaṇatvaṃ te viruddham iha dṛśyate | brāhmaṇyaṃ durlabhataraṃ saṃvṛtaṃ paripanthibhiḥ ||

Translation

Thấy Mataṅga đang ngã xuống, Indra—bậc có thể ban ân và luôn tận tâm vì lợi ích của muôn loài—liền chạy tới nắm giữ lại. Śakra (Indra) nói: “Hỡi Mataṅga, ngay trong đời này, việc đạt được địa vị Bà-la-môn đối với ngươi dường như đã bị ngăn chặn. Bà-la-môn tính vô cùng khó đạt, lại bị vây bủa bởi những kẻ cướp đường—như dục vọng và sân hận—chặn lối.”
