काम्यया पृष्टवांस्त्वं मां ततो व्याह्मतमुत्तमम् । अनतिक्रमणीया सा कृत्स्नौलेकैस्त्रिभि: सदा
Bhīṣma uvāca: kāmyayā pṛṣṭavāṁs tvaṁ māṁ tato vyākhyātam uttamam | anatikramaṇīyā sā kṛtsnair lokais tribhiḥ sadā ||
Bhishma nói: “Vì ngươi hỏi ta với lòng ham biết, nên ta đã giảng giải sự việc ấy rành rẽ và trọn vẹn. Mệnh lệnh ấy vốn không thể bị vượt qua—dẫu bởi muôn loài trong cả ba cõi.”
भीष्म उवाच
A rightful injunction—especially one grounded in dharma and associated with brahminical authority—is to be treated as inviolable; it should not be transgressed, regardless of status, even in the scope of the three worlds.
Bhishma responds to a question posed with sincere curiosity, stating that he has explained the matter thoroughly and emphasizing the binding force of the instruction he has just given.
