नामधेयानि देवेषु बहुन्यस्य यथार्थवत् । निरुच्यन्ते महत्त्वाच्च विभुत्वात् कर्मभिस्तथा,उनकी महत्ता, व्यापकता तथा दिव्य कर्मोंके अनुसार देवताओंमें उनके बहुत-से यथार्थ नाम प्रचलित हैं
nāmadheyāni deveṣu bahūny asya yathārthavat | nirucyante mahattvāc ca vibhutvāt karmabhis tathā ||
Thần Vāyu nói: “Giữa các chư thiên, có nhiều danh xưng được dùng để gọi Ngài, và mỗi danh xưng đều chân thực, có ý nghĩa—phát sinh từ sự vĩ đại của Ngài, từ quyền năng bao trùm khắp nơi, và cũng từ những công hạnh thần linh của Ngài. Vì thế, truyền thống nhiều tôn hiệu không phải chỉ là thói quen, mà là sự thừa nhận rằng tên gọi phải tương xứng với phẩm tính và hành nghiệp có thật.”
