Yudhiṣṭhira thưa: “Thưa ông nội, ngài vô cùng minh triết và tinh thông mọi śāstra. Vậy xin cho con hỏi: mỗi ngày người ta nên tụng niệm điều gì—mantra hay thánh ca nào—để nhờ sự trì tụng thường hằng mà đạt được quả báo dharma lớn lao?”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse frames a dharmic inquiry: daily disciplined recitation (japa) is presented as a means to accrue substantial ethical-spiritual merit, and the proper object of recitation should be chosen under scriptural guidance.
In the Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction setting, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Bhīṣma (his ‘grandfather’) and asks him to recommend a mantra or stotra that, when recited every day, yields great fruit of dharma.
