Adhyāya 152 — Bhīṣma’s Authorization for Yudhiṣṭhira’s Return to the Capital (नगरप्रवेशानुज्ञा)
(प्रमदोक्तं तु यत् किंचित् तत् स्त्रीषु बहु मन्यते । न तथा मन्यते स्त्रीषु पुरुषोक्तमनिन्दिते ।।
pramadoktaṁ tu yat kiñcit tat strīṣu bahu manyate | na tathā manyate strīṣu puruṣoktam anindite || anindite! tava sarvaḥ suviditaḥ strīdharmaḥ śāśvataḥ śubhe | tasmād aśeṣato brūhi svadharma vistareṇa me ||
Maheshvara nói: “Bất cứ điều gì do chính người nữ cất lời—dẫu thốt ra trong phút lơ đãng—thường được các phụ nữ coi trọng rất nhiều. Nhưng lời do đàn ông nói thì trong giới nữ lại không được xem trọng theo cách ấy, hỡi người không tì vết. Hỡi phu nhân cát tường, nàng thấu suốt trọn vẹn pháp (dharma) vĩnh cửu và thiện lành của phụ nữ. Vậy hãy nói cho ta đầy đủ—trình bày pháp của chính nàng một cách tường tận.”
