(दाक्षिणात्य अधिक पाठके १२०९ श्लोक मिलाकर कुल १२७३ श्लोक हैं) ऑपन--माजल बछ। अकाल षट्चत्वारिंशदधिकशततमो<ध्याय: पार्वतीजीके द्वारा स्त्री-धर्मका वर्णन नारद उवाच एवमुक्त्वा महादेव: श्रोतुकाम: स्वयं प्रभु: । अनुकूलां प्रियां भार्या पारश्वस्थां समभाषत
nārada uvāca | evam uktvā mahādevaḥ śrotukāmaḥ svayaṃ prabhuḥ | anukūlāṃ priyāṃ bhāryāṃ pārśvasthāṃ samabhāṣata ||
Nārada nói: “Nói xong như vậy, Mahādeva—dẫu chính Ngài là bậc Chúa Tể—cũng khởi tâm muốn lắng nghe. Vì thế Ngài ngỏ lời với người vợ yêu dấu, hiền hòa của mình là Pārvatī, đang ngồi kề bên, mời nàng cất tiếng.”
