Kīrtana for the Removal of Impurity
alpaprajño virūpākṣa kathaṁ bhavati mānavaḥ | etan me saṁśayaṁ chindhi sarvadharmavidāṁ vara ||
The verse frames ignorance as a moral-spiritual problem worth investigating: one should ask a true knower of dharma to remove doubt, because clarity of understanding is essential for right conduct.
A questioner addresses Śiva (Virūpākṣa), acknowledging him as the foremost knower of dharma, and asks him to explain the causes by which a human becomes ‘alpaprajña’ (of little discernment), requesting a direct resolution of doubt.
