Brahmapūjā-kāraṇa-prśnaḥ and Keśava–Viṣvaksena-stuti
Question on Brahmin veneration; hymn on Kṛṣṇa as cosmic order
दीनश्न याचते चायमल्पेनापि हि तुष्यति । इति दद्याद् दरिद्राय कारुण्यादिति सर्वथा
dīnaś ca yācate cāyam alpenāpi hi tuṣyati | iti dadyād daridrāya kāruṇyād iti sarvathā ||
Bhishma dạy rằng: Khi một người nghèo khổ, khốn cùng đến xin, hãy bố thí vì lòng thương xót, nghĩ rằng: “Kẻ đáng thương này rất thiếu thốn và đang cầu ta; chỉ một chút thôi cũng khiến người ấy thỏa lòng.” Vì vậy, bố thí cho kẻ bần cùng phải xuất phát từ lòng trắc ẩn, không từ kiêu mạn hay toan tính.
