शम्बरे निहते पूर्व रौक्मिणेयेन धीमता । अतीते द्वादशे वर्षे जाम्बवत्यब्रवीद्धि माम्
śambare nihate pūrvaṁ raukmiṇeyena dhīmatā | atīte dvādaśe varṣe jāmbavaty abravīd dhi mām, yudhiṣṭhira |
Vāsudeva nói: “Hỡi Yudhiṣṭhira, thuở trước, khi ác quỷ Śambara đã bị người con hiền trí của Rukmiṇī giết chết, và mười hai năm đã trôi qua, Jāmbavatī—khao khát có con trai—đến gặp ta và nói như sau.”
