शाकल्य: संशितात्मा वै नववर्षशतान्यपि । आराधयामास भवं मनोयज्ञेन केशव,केशव! शाकल्य ऋषिके मनमें सदा संशय बना रहता था। उन्होंने मनोमय यज्ञ (ध्यान)-के द्वारा भगवान्‌ शिवकी नौ सौ वर्षोतक आराधना की

Śākalyaḥ saṁśitātmā vai navavarṣaśatāny api | ārādhayāmāsa bhavaṁ manoyajñena Keśava ||

Vāsudeva nói: “Hỡi Keśava, hiền triết Śākalya—kiên định và tự chế—đã thờ phụng Bhava (Śiva) bằng một tế lễ nội tâm của ý niệm, và ông duy trì sự sùng kính ấy suốt chín trăm năm. Đoạn này nêu bật sức mạnh đạo đức của kỷ luật nội tâm bền bỉ: thờ phụng chân chính không chỉ là nghi lễ bên ngoài, mà là ý chí tập trung, sự tiết chế và lòng kiên trì không lay chuyển.”
