स बुद्धिश्रुतिसम्पन्नस्तं दृष्टवातीव भीषणम् | सामैवास्मिन् प्रयुयुजे न मुमोह न विव्यथे
sa buddhiśrutisampannas taṃ dṛṣṭvātīva bhīṣaṇam | sāmaivāsmin prayuyuje na mumoh na vivyathe ||
Vốn có năng lực phán đoán vững vàng và thông hiểu giáo pháp, ông dù thấy rākṣasa ghê rợn đến tột cùng cũng không hoảng loạn, chẳng hề nao núng. Trái lại, ông dùng ngay sāma—lời lẽ điềm tĩnh, khôn khéo của sự hòa giải—để đối đãi với nó.
