Dāna–Tapaḥ Praśaṃsā and Gṛhastha-Upadeśa
Maitreya
ते5पि यस्मात् प्रभावेण हता: क्षत्रियपुंगवा: । सम्प्राप्तास्ते गतिं पुण्यां तस्मान्मा शोच पुत्रक
te 'pi yasmāt prabhāveṇa hatāḥ kṣatriya-puṅgavāḥ | samprāptās te gatiṁ puṇyāṁ tasmān mā śoca putraka ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Những bậc kṣatriya kiệt xuất, bị hạ bởi dũng lực của người ấy, cũng đã đạt đến một đích đến thanh cao. Vì thế, con ta, chớ sầu muộn. Người xả thân nơi chiến địa, chết trong bổn phận kṣatriya, theo truyền thống được nhìn nhận là đi theo một lộ trình cao quý sau khi chết; cũng vậy, các dũng sĩ lẫy lừng đã ngã xuống trên chiến trường này, phô bày sức mạnh của mình, đều đã đến một cảnh giới công đức—vậy nên không hợp để than khóc cho họ.”
