Bhaṅgāśvanopākhyāna — On comparative affection in strī–puruṣa union (भङ्गाश्वनोपाख्यानम्)
Bhishma frames his instruction through an itihasa-example: ethical guidance is strengthened by recalling earlier precedents, especially stories showing how conflict (vaira) can arise even among great beings and thus must be understood and handled through dharma.
Bhishma begins to introduce an old legend: the prior hostility between Indra (Shakra) and Bhangaashvana, which will serve as an illustrative case for the topic under discussion.
