Bhīṣma nói: “Hỡi bậc vương giả tối thượng, hỡi người vô tội, hãy nghe điều ta tuyên nói. Hỡi chúa tể loài người, nhờ kiêng ăn thịt mà đạt được mọi thứ an lạc.”
भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma teaches that abstaining from meat is a dharmic discipline linked with non-injury and purity, and that such restraint yields comprehensive well-being (sarva-sukha).
In the Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction on dharma, Bhīṣma addresses the king (Yudhiṣṭhira) and adds a specific ethical counsel: do not eat meat, for it leads to broad benefit and happiness.
