Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity

Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the doctrine of karma-phala: sustained righteous conduct yields exalted results, portrayed here as long residence in Prajapati’s realm with radiant splendor and celestial enjoyment over immense spans of time.

Bhishma is describing the posthumous reward attained by a meritorious person: dwelling in Prajāpatiloka for an unimaginably long duration, shining like fire, and delighting there with celestial maidens for a thousand kalpas.
