मानसतीर्थ-शौचप्रशंसा | Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity

जो बारह महीनेतक प्रति चौदहवें दिन हविष्यान्न भोजन करता है, वह महामेध यज्ञका फल पाता है ।।

Bhīṣma uvāca: yo dvādaśa māsān prati caturdaśe dine haviṣyānna-bhojanaṁ karoti, sa mahāmedha-yajñasya phalaṁ prāpnoti. anirdeśya-vayo-rūpā devakanyāḥ su-alaṅkṛtāḥ, mṛṣṭa-taptāṅgada-dharā vimānaiḥ upayānti tam.

Bhīṣma nói: Người nào trong mười hai tháng, cứ đến ngày mười bốn lại chỉ dùng haviṣyānna—thứ lương thực giản dị dành cho lễ cúng—thì đạt công đức ngang với đại tế Mahāmedha. Những thiên nữ, tuổi xuân và dung sắc không sao tả xiết, trang sức lộng lẫy, đeo những vòng tay bằng vàng ròng đã được nung luyện tinh khiết, sẽ ngự trên các thiên xa mà đến gần người ấy để hầu cận.
