मानसतीर्थ-शौचप्रशंसा | Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity
परस्त्रियं नाभिलषेद् वाचाथ मनसापि वा । अनृतं च न भाषेत मातापित्रो: कृतेपि वा
parastriyaṁ nābhilaṣed vā cātha manasāpi vā | anṛtaṁ ca na bhāṣeta mātāpitroḥ kṛte 'pi vā ||
Bhīṣma nói: Chớ ham muốn vợ của người khác—dù bằng lời nói hay chỉ trong tâm niệm. Và chớ nói dối, dẫu là vì cha mẹ mình. Lời dạy nhấn mạnh rằng tự chế nội tâm và chân thật là kỷ luật nền tảng của dharma, mở rộng trách nhiệm đạo đức từ hành vi bên ngoài đến cả ý hướng bên trong.
