Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity
पतितैस्तु कथां नेच्छेद् दर्शनं च विवर्जयेत् । संसर्ग च न गच्छेत तथा<<युर्विन्दते महत्
patitais tu kathāṁ necched darśanaṁ ca vivarjayet | saṁsargaṁ ca na gaccheta tathā āyur vindate mahat ||
Bhīṣma nói: Không nên tìm cách chuyện trò với kẻ sa đọa (suy đồi đạo hạnh), nên tránh cả việc nhìn thấy họ, và cũng không nên giao du kết bạn với họ. Nhờ sự tránh né có kỷ luật như vậy, người ta nói rằng con người sẽ được trường thọ—vì hạnh kiểm và sự thanh tịnh của mình được gìn giữ khỏi ảnh hưởng làm bại hoại.
