अदृष्टेनाथ भुगुणा भूतले भरतर्षभ । भरतश्रेष्ठ! भूगु नहुषको दिखायी नहीं दे रहे थे। उनके इस प्रकार शाप देनेपर नहुष सर्प होकर पृथ्वीपर गिरने लगे
adṛṣṭenātha bhṛguṇā bhūtale bharatarṣabha | tasmād ayaṃ punaḥ śakro devarājye ’bhiṣicyatām ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Hỡi bậc tráng kiện trong dòng Bharata, khi hiền thánh Bhṛgu không còn hiện diện trên mặt đất nữa, thì hãy làm lễ quán đảnh để Śakra (Indra) một lần nữa nắm quyền tối thượng của chư thiên. Bởi không có vua, trật tự đời sống không thể duy trì ở bất cứ nơi đâu; vì thế hãy phục vị Indra thuở trước vào ngôi Chúa tể các deva.”
