न ब्राह्मणानां कोपो$स्ति कुत: कोपाच्च यातनाम्‌ | मार्दवात्‌ क्षम्यतां साथो मुच्यतामेष पन्नग:

na brāhmaṇānāṁ kopo 'sti kutaḥ kopāc ca yātanām | mārdavāt kṣamyatāṁ sātho mucyatām eṣa pannagaḥ ||

Người thợ săn nói: “Bà-la-môn không nghiêng về sân giận; đã không có sân, sao lại có thể vì phẫn nộ mà gây khổ cho kẻ khác? Vậy, hỡi bậc hiền thiện, hãy nương nơi lòng nhu hòa—tha thứ lỗi lầm của con rắn này và thả nó đi.”
