Educational Q&A

The verse presents a dharmic model of attaining prosperity and continuation of lineage: a ruler performs great Vedic rites with discipline and receives the fruit through the blessing of a sage, emphasizing merit, humility, and alignment with sacred order rather than coercion.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that King Bharata conducted major sacrifices and, through the grace/agency of the sage Bharadvāja, obtained a son named Bhūmanyu, continuing Bharata’s line.
