ययाति-देवयानी-शर्मिष्ठा विवादः — Śukra’s Curse and the Disclosure of Lineage
इदं मामाह शर्मिष्ठा दुहिता वृषपर्वण: । क्रोधसंरक्तनयना दर्पपूर्णा पुनः पुन:,वृषपर्वाकी बेटी शर्मिष्ठाने आज मुझसे ऐसी बात कही है। कहते समय उसकी आँखें क्रोधसे लाल हो रही थीं। वह भारी घमंडसे भरी हुई थी और उसने एक बार ही नहीं, अपितु बार-बार उपर्युक्त बातें दुहरायी हैं
idaṃ mām āha śarmiṣṭhā duhitā vṛṣaparvaṇaḥ | krodha-saṃrakta-nayanā darpa-pūrṇā punaḥ punaḥ ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana nói: “Śarmiṣṭhā, con gái của Vṛṣaparvan, đã nói với ta những lời ấy. Mắt nàng đỏ rực vì giận, lòng đầy kiêu mạn, và nàng cứ lặp đi lặp lại cùng một lời cay nghiệt.”
