Duḥṣanta–Śakuntalā: Gandharva Marriage and Succession Condition

गणस्त्वप्सरसां यो वै मया राजन प्रकीर्तित: । तस्य भाग: क्षितौ जज्ञे नियोगाद्‌ वासवस्य ह,महाराज! मैंने अप्सराओोंके जिस समुदायका वर्णन किया है, उसका अंश भी इन्द्रके आदेशसे इस पृथ्वीपर उत्पन्न हुआ था

gaṇas tv apsarasāṃ yo vai mayā rājan prakīrtitaḥ | tasya bhāgaḥ kṣitau jajñe niyogād vāsavasya ha ||

Vaiśampāyana nói: “Tâu Đại vương, đoàn Apsarā mà ta đã thuật lại—một phần của chính đoàn ấy đã sinh ra trên mặt đất này, quả thật theo mệnh lệnh của Vāsava (Indra).”
