अनुजां वासुदेवस्य सुभद्रां भद्रभाषिणीम् | सा शचीव महेन्द्रेण श्री: कृष्णेनेव संगता
anujāṃ vāsudevasya subhadrāṃ bhadrabhāṣiṇīm | sā śacīva mahendreṇa śrīḥ kṛṣṇeneva saṅgatā ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Subhadrā, em gái của Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa), lời nói hiền hòa và cát tường, đã nên duyên cùng chàng—như Śacī sánh đôi với đại Indra, và như Śrī (Lakṣmī) kết hợp với Kṛṣṇa.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse praises auspicious speech and dignified union, presenting an ideal of companionship through divine comparisons (Śacī–Indra, Śrī–Kṛṣṇa), implying that harmony and virtue are marks of a blessed relationship.
The narrator describes Subhadrā—Kṛṣṇa’s younger sister—as auspicious and well-spoken, and states that she became united with him (in close association/relationship), emphasizing the auspiciousness of this connection by likening it to celebrated divine pairings.
