Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes the ethical prestige of righteous ritual and kingship: a sacrifice gains true renown when aligned with dharma, and the speaker frames the rite with a blessing for the welfare of loved ones, highlighting auspicious intent over mere display.

Āstīka addresses King Janamejaya during the sacrificial setting, praising his yajña by comparing it to the famed sacrifice of Yudhiṣṭhira and offering a benediction (svasti) for their dear ones, thereby establishing respectful rapport and moral tone.
