Jaratkāru-nirukti and Parīkṣit’s forest encounter (जরত्कारुनिरुक्तिः—परिक्षिद्वनप्रसङ्गः)
शेष उवाच सोदर्या मम सर्वे हि भ्रातरो मन्दचेतस: । सह तैर्नोत्सहे वस्तुं तद् भवाननुमन्यताम्,शेषनाग बोले--भगवन्! मेरे सब सहोदर भाई बड़े मन्दबुद्धि हैं, अतः मैं उनके साथ नहीं रहना चाहता। आप मेरी इस इच्छाका अनुमोदन करें
śeṣa uvāca: sodaryā mama sarve hi bhrātaro mandacetasaḥ | saha tair notsahe vastum tad bhavān anumanyatām ||
Śeṣa thưa: “Bạch Thượng Chủ, các huynh đệ cùng một cha mẹ của con đều thật kém trí. Vì thế con không muốn sống chung với họ. Xin Ngài chuẩn thuận và cho phép quyết tâm này của con.”
