समन्तपञ्चक-आख्यानम् तथा अक्षौहिणी-प्रमाणनिर्णयः

यथावत्‌ सूरपुत्रेण लौमहर्षणिना ततः । उक्तानि नैमिषारण्ये पर्वाण्यष्टादशैव तु,सूतवंशशिरोमणि लोमहर्षणके पुत्र उग्रश्रवाजीने व्यासजीकी रचना पूर्ण हो जानेपर नैमिषारप्यक्षेत्रमें इन्हीं सौ पर्वोको अठारह पर्वोके रूपमें सुव्यवस्थित करके ऋषियोंके सामने कहा

yathāvat sūraputreṇa laumaharṣaṇinā tataḥ | uktāni naimiṣāraṇye parvāṇy aṣṭādaśaiva tu ||

Sau đó, theo đúng trật tự, con trai của Sūta là Lomaharṣaṇa đã thuật lại trong rừng Naimiṣa mười tám Parva (mười tám quyển) của Mahābhārata.
