समन्तपञ्चक-आख्यानम् तथा अक्षौहिणी-प्रमाणनिर्णयः

Samantapañcaka Narrative and the Measure of an Akṣauhiṇī

अन्नौषधीनां च कृते पाण्डवेन महात्मना । द्विजानां भरणार्थ च कृतमाराधनं रवे:,महात्मा युधिष्ठिरने पहले अनुयायी ब्राह्मणोंक भरण-पोषणके लिये अन्न और ओषधियाँ प्राप्त करनेके उद्देश्यसे सूर्यभभगवान्‌की आराधना की

annauṣadhīnāṃ ca kṛte pāṇḍavena mahātmanā | dvijānāṃ bharaṇārthaṃ ca kṛtam ārādhanaṃ raveḥ ||

Để có được lương thực và thảo dược chữa bệnh, vị Pāṇḍava đại hồn đã làm lễ thờ phụng Thần Mặt Trời. Mục đích của ngài là nuôi dưỡng và nâng đỡ những bậc “nhị sinh” (Bà-la-môn) nương tựa vào mình—một hành động đặt vương quyền trong khuôn khổ phụng sự, nơi lòng sùng kính hướng về việc hoàn thành bổn phận đạo lý của chăm sóc và hiếu khách.
