गन्धर्व्युवाच त्रायस्व मां महाभाग पति चेम॑ विमुज्च मे । गन्धर्वी शरण प्राप्ता नाम्ना कुम्भीनसी प्रभो,गन्धर्वी बोली--महाभाग! मेरी रक्षा कीजिये और मेरे इन पतिदेवको आप छोड़ दीजिये। प्रभो! मैं गन्धर्वपत्नी कुम्भीनसी आपकी शरणमें आयी हूँ
Gandharvy uvāca: trāyasva māṁ mahābhāga patiṁ cemaṁ vimuñca me | gandharvī śaraṇa-prāptā nāmnā kumbhīnasī prabho ||
Nữ Gandharvī nói: “Bậc cao quý, xin hãy che chở cho thiếp, và xin thả người chồng này của thiếp. Thưa chúa công, thiếp là một Gandharvī đến cầu nương tựa; tên thiếp là Kumbhīnasī.” Câu kệ làm nổi bật đạo lý śaraṇāgati (quy y cầu hộ): kẻ yếu thế khẩn cầu người có quyền lực phải ban an toàn và tránh sự giam giữ bất công.
