बक-राक्षसस्य आह्वानम् तथा वृक्षयुद्धम्

कृच्छेण मातरं चैव सुकुमारी यशस्विनीम् । अवहत् स तु पृष्ठेन रोधस्तु विषमेषु च,भीमसेन अपनी सुकुमारी एवं यशस्विनी माता कुन्तीको पीठपर बिठाकर नदीके ऊँचे- नीचे कगारोंपर बड़ी कठिनाईसे ले जाते थे
kṛcchreṇa mātaraṃ caiva sukumārīṃ yaśasvinīm | avahat sa tu pṛṣṭhena rodhastu viṣameṣu ca ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Với muôn phần nhọc nhằn, chàng cõng mẹ mình—người phụ nữ mảnh mai và lừng danh—trên lưng, dìu bà đi dọc bờ sông gồ ghề, chỗ cao chỗ thấp.
