आदि पर्व — अध्याय 148: कुन्ती–ब्राह्मणसंवादः (दुःखमूल-प्रश्नः) / Kuntī and the Brahmin: Inquiry into the Root of Suffering
अथ दानापदेशेन कुन्ती ब्राह्णभोजनम् | चक्रे निशि महाराज आजम्मुस्तत्र योषित:,महाराज! तदनन्तर एक दिन रात्रिके समय कुन्तीने दान देनेके निमित्त ब्राह्मणग-भोजन कराया। उसमें बहुत-सी स्त्रियाँ भी आयी थीं। भारत! वे सब स्त्रियाँ इच्छानुसार घूम- फिरकर खा-पी लेनेके बाद कुन्तीदेवीसे आज्ञा ले रातमें फिर अपने-अपने घरोंको ही लौट गयीं
atha dānāpadeśena kuntī brāhmaṇabhojanam | cakre niśi mahārāja ājagmus tatra yoṣitaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Rồi, hỡi đại vương, Kuntī lấy cớ bố thí mà sắp đặt một bữa thọ trai cho các brāhmaṇa vào ban đêm. Nhiều phụ nữ cũng đến đó. Sau khi ăn uống thỏa thích và đi lại tùy ý, họ xin phép phu nhân Kuntī rồi trở về nhà mình trong đêm.
