मृगाभिशापान्नष्टं मे जननं हाकृतात्मन: । नृशंसकारिणो भीरु यथैवोपहतं पुरा

mṛgābhiśāpān naṣṭaṃ me jananaṃ hākṛtātmanaḥ | nṛśaṃsakāriṇo bhīru yathaivopahataṃ purā ||

Vaiśampāyana nói: “Vì lời nguyền của con nai, năng lực sinh con của ta đã bị tiêu diệt. Ta không làm chủ được chính mình; ta đã hành động tàn bạo. Hỡi người nhút nhát, bởi vậy sức sinh sản của ta đã bị đánh gục—cũng như thuở trước ta đã đánh gục con nai ấy, giết nó và ngăn trở cuộc giao phối của nó.”
