अनुक्रमणिकाध्यायः (Anukramaṇikā Adhyāya) — Invocation, Narrator Frame, and Textual Scope
अभिवाद्य मुनींस्तांस्तु सर्वानेव कृताञ्जलि: । अपृच्छत् स तपोवृद्धि सद्धिश्वैवाभिपूजित:,उम्रश्रवाजीनी पहले हाथ जोड़कर उन सभी मुनियोंकों अभिवादन किया और “आपलोगोंकी तपस्या सुखपूर्वक बढ़ रही है न?” इस प्रकार कुशल-प्रश्न किया। उन सत्पुरुषोंने भी उग्रश्रवाजीका भलीभाँति स्वागत-सत्कार किया
abhivādya munīṁs tāṁs tu sarvān eva kṛtāñjaliḥ | apṛcchat sa tapo-vṛddhiṁ sadbhiś caivābhipūjitaḥ ||
Ông chắp tay kính chào tất cả các bậc hiền giả, rồi hỏi thăm sự tăng trưởng và an ổn của công phu khổ hạnh—rằng việc tu trì của các ngài có được thuận hòa, tốt đẹp chăng. Các bậc hiền đức ấy cũng theo lễ mà tôn kính và tiếp đãi Ugraśravas một cách xứng đáng.
