FAQs

It functions as a phalaśruti: even concise kīrtana of the Purāṇa’s essence is declared meritorious, preparing the devotee for Śiva-bhakti that culminates in higher worlds and spiritual release.

Though Śiva is not named explicitly, the verse implies the Shaiva framework of purification and ascent: the bound soul (pāśu) progresses beyond pāpa through sacred recitation, ultimately oriented toward the Pati who grants freedom from bondage.

Śravaṇa–kīrtana (hearing and reciting sacred teaching) is highlighted as a purifying sādhanā; it supports Pāśupata-aligned discipline by reducing pāśa (impurities) and stabilizing devotion.
