FAQs

Indirectly: it emphasizes disciplined conduct and purity as prerequisites for inner steadiness; such restraint supports the contemplative life in which knowledge of the Self is realized.

It highlights preparatory restraints (ethical and ritual discipline) akin to yama–niyama: mindful behavior during eating, controlled speech, reverence for Agni, and regulated bodily practices—supporting steadiness for mantra, worship, and meditation.

Not explicitly; it reflects the Purana’s shared dharma-ground where Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis rests on common discipline and purity as the foundation for devotion and higher knowledge.
