Karma, Varṇa-Dharma, and Dāna as the Soul’s True Companion on the Path to Yama
एवं समाचारयुतो नरो ऽपि वापीं सकूपां सजलं तडागम् / प्रपाशुभं हृद्गृहदेवमन्दिरं कृतं नरेणैव स धर्मौत्तमः
evaṃ samācārayuto naro 'pi vāpīṃ sakūpāṃ sajalaṃ taḍāgam / prapāśubhaṃ hṛdgṛhadevamandiraṃ kṛtaṃ nareṇaiva sa dharmauttamaḥ
Như vậy, dù chỉ là người thường—nhưng có chánh hạnh—nếu tự mình dựng nên giếng có kè vững, ao hồ đầy nước, nhà nghỉ bố thí nước uống thanh tịnh (prapā), hồ lớn, miếu thờ trong nhà và đền thờ Thần linh—người ấy thật là bậc tối thượng trong dharma.
