Saṅkara-jāti-nirṇaya and Gṛhastha-ācāra: Daily Rites, Purity, Anadhyāya, and Food Discipline

जीवेद्वापि शिलोञ्छेन श्रेयानेषां परः परः / न स्वाध्यायविरोध्यर्थमीहेत न यतस्ततः

jīvedvāpi śiloñchena śreyāneṣāṃ paraḥ paraḥ / na svādhyāyavirodhyarthamīheta na yatastataḥ

Dẫu phải sống bằng cách nhặt nhạnh hạt thóc rơi vãi (śiloñcha) thì vẫn cao quý hơn—mỗi lối mưu sinh giản dị về sau lại tốt hơn lối trước. Chớ theo đuổi của cải hay mục đích làm trái, cản trở việc tự học tụng Veda (svādhyāya), cũng đừng chạy theo lợi lộc từ mọi nguồn.
