Pitṛ-Stuti, Tarpaṇa, and the Ritual Power of Recitation in Śrāddha

FAQs

This verse states that propitiating the Pitṛs is a direct means to secure desired outcomes, because pleased ancestors are described as powerful bestowers of boons.

By emphasizing Pitṛ-satisfaction through prescribed rites, it points to the Garuda Purana’s broader teaching that post-death welfare and family well-being are supported by Śrāddha-related observances that maintain the ancestral link.

Perform Śrāddha/ancestor rites with sincerity (as per one’s tradition) and cultivate gratitude to lineage—treating it as a dharmic duty rather than a mere transaction for worldly gains.
