Lord Vishnu (speaking to Garuda/Vinata-putra)
Concept: Devatā-smaraṇa through ritual symbol: Vighneśa and Viṣṇu in strands; Trideva in the triple cord.
Vedantic Theme: One reality approached through functional aspects—creation, preservation, dissolution—supporting integrated devotion.
Application: Before rites, mentally invoke obstacle-removal (Vighneśa) and preservation/protection (Viṣṇu), then recollect the Trideva as cosmic order; let this guide ethical steadiness.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: ritual context (wearing/handling yajñopavīta)
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.43.11 (strand contemplations); Garuda Purana 1.43.9-10 (ritual propriety)
This verse links the threefold cord to the remembrance of Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Rudra, framing the yajñopavīta as a ritual symbol of divine presence and dharmic discipline.
Indirectly: it emphasizes correct ritual orientation and deity-remembrance, which the Garuda Purana treats as supports for dharma—shaping one’s karmic trajectory and spiritual preparedness.
During daily worship or sandhyā practices, treat the sacred thread as a reminder to invoke obstacle-removal (Vighneśa) and sustain dharmic conduct under the guidance of the Trimūrti.
