Lord Vishnu (in instruction to Garuda/Vinata-putra)
Dosha: Pitta
Concept: Appropriate anupāna (accompanying drink) and response to pitta-induced thirst during snehana.
Vedantic Theme: Sattvic regulation: harmonizing bodily processes to reduce agitation and support clarity.
Application: With ghee give warm water; with oil use a different suitable drink; if pitta causes thirst during oleation, drink warm water.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.173.30 (dose by strength); Garuda Purana 1.173.32 (signs of proper oleation; correction by drying/uncting)
The verse prescribes warm water as the suitable accompanying drink for ghee, supporting proper digestion and management of the therapy.
It does not address the afterlife narrative; it belongs to the Purana’s practical instruction on bodily regimen and treatment.
If using ghee-based intake therapeutically, prefer warm water; and if heat/thirst (pitta-type) rises during such therapy, sip warm water rather than cold.
