śyāmākaḥ śoṣaṇo rūkṣo vātalaḥ śleṣmapittahā / tadvatpriyaṅgunīvārakoradūṣāḥ prakīrtitāḥ
Kê Śyāmāka có tính làm khô, thô ráp (không nhuận), dễ làm tăng vāta, nhưng lại làm giảm kapha và pitta. Tương tự, các loại hạt priyaṅgu, nīvāra và koradūṣa cũng được nói là có phẩm tính như vậy.
