गृहार्थी सदृशीं भार्यामुद्वहेदजुगुप्सिताम् । यवीयसीं तु वयसा यां सवर्णामनुक्रमात् ॥ ३९ ॥
gṛhārthī sadṛśīṁ bhāryām udvahed ajugupsitām yavīyasīṁ tu vayasā yāṁ sa-varṇām anu kramāt
Người muốn lập đời sống gia đình nên cưới người vợ cùng varṇa, không đáng chê trách và trẻ tuổi hơn. Nếu muốn nhận nhiều vợ, phải cưới sau cuộc hôn nhân đầu theo thứ tự, và mỗi người vợ nên thuộc varṇa thấp dần theo thứ tự ấy.
